Antioch edges Lake Forest

Call it a signature win for Antioch's boys soccer team.

The Sequoits pulled off a 3-2 victory over visiting Lake Forest on Thursday, getting a 17-save effort from keeper Alex Grimm and goals from three players in a North Suburban crossover that kept them undefeated.

Oscar Segura had a goal and an assist for Antioch (9-0-2), while Billy Mohr and Ryan Geidner also scored for the home team. Taylor Krumpos assisted on Segura's tally.

Lakes 1, Libertyville 1: For the first time this season, Libertyville didn't win.

And the Wildcats (12-0-1) needed goal from Miles McNeir with seven minutes left to avoid suffering their first loss.

Lakes' Jonathan Stanley shot a 35-yard bullet into the upper 90 in the 15th minute to break a scoreless tie. Eagles keeper Roberto Tre-Re stopped a penalty kick in the second half.

Libertyville goalie Andrew Bitta made 9 saves.

Lake Zurich 4, Round Lake 2: Brendan Seeger scored twice, and Jake Changelon and Jose Corral also scored for the Bears, who led 3-0 at halftime.

Changelon added 2 assists for Lake Zurich (8-4-1) in the North Suburban crossover.

Stevenson 4, Wauconda 0: Arturo Hernandez, Rick Lekakh, Johnny Watrach and Justin George scored for the Patriots in the North Suburban crossover.

Jacob Arziel and Quinton Low shared the shutout in goal for Stevenson.

Grayslake North 2, Huntley 1: The Knights won in a sudden-death shootout after Michael Rohrer converted his penalty kick and keeper Richard Klarck stopped a Huntley shot.

Grayslake North trailed 1-0 at halftime but scored the equalizer when Sintayehu Meyer converted Arnaud Laroche-Bataille's through ball.

"We played great all around and showed a lot of character and class in a tightly fought game," Knights coach Adam DeCaluwe said. "We got behind early, but showed a ton of desire and determination to get the win."

Dundee-Crown 2, Grayslake Central 0: The Rams lost on their home field.
