Hannah Burkle had 9 kills and Maureen Johnson added six Wednesday night as the Crystal Lake South girls volleyball team defeated Zion-Benton 25-20, 25-19 in nonconference action.
Emmy Oraham added 23 assists for the Gators, who moved to 7-2 for the season with the win.
"It's nice to see the girls battle and play well as we go into conference next week," said South coach Jorie Fontana.
Dundee-Crown d. Kennedy: Alexis Holm had 8 kills and Rebecca Wika added five to lead the Chargers (2-3) to a 25-20, 17-25, 25-15 nonconference win. Tess Barnes had 20 assists for D-C and Carlin Faulkner added 11 digs.
West Chicago d. Streamwood: Alyson Montemayor had 3 kills and Liz Simonelli 4 assists for Streamwood (1-9) in a 25-7, 25-16 nonconference loss.
