Lauren Hartford had 25 kills, Kelly Kraft 23 and Jacki Gulczynski 21 as the Bartlett girls volleyball team finished fifth Saturday at the West Aurora tournament.
The Hawks (4-4-1) beat Plainfield South and Mount Assisi, tied Evergreen Park and lost to West Aurora and Sycamore.
Gulczynski served 16 aces, Kraft eight and Hartford five. Gulczynski also had 7 blocks and Hartford four, while Lauren Caruba had 49 digs, Gulczynski 23, Tori Burke 21, Hartford 20 and Kraft 15. Burke also added 86 assists.
Streamwood at West Aurora: The Sabres lost all five of their matches at the West Aurora tournament. Brittany Kemp had 13 kills on the day for the Sabres.
South Elgin at West Aurora: South Elgin went 2-2-1 and won the Copper Division at the West Aurora tournament. The Storm defeated Plainfield South and Streamwood, tied Plainfield East and lost to Minooka and Sycamore. Laura Balance led South Elgin with 14 kills and 8 aces, Ashley Oandasan had 17 kills, 3 blocks and 26 digs and Katlyn Stonecipher added 3 aces and 35 digs. Jasmine Kuro contributed 12 kills, and Courtney Sanocki added 17 digs and 39 assists for the Storm (3-3-1).
At Somonauk: Westminster Christian went 1-2 at the Somonauk tournament, beating Somonauk but losing to Seneca and Herscher. Hannah Graves led the Warriors (3-3) with 12 kills, 10 digs, 16 assists and 4 aces while Cara Tyrell had 13 aces, 6 kills, 13 digs and 37 good passes and Whitney VandenBos added 6 aces, 16 digs and 27 good passes.
