Outlook: The Lake Zurich series ended and Geneva's on tap next year, so this is a one-time meeting between quality Class 7A programs. The Griffins are breaking in many new starters, including quarterback Blake Winkler, who attempted only 10 passes last week. Three returning linemen and running back Max Bayer fuel the double wing. The Falcons' defense played great led by lineman Clemonte Dossie and linebacker Mike Swider. Quarterback Reece Butler is the clear offensive leader, but the Falcons are still sorting out the running game. While Patrick Sharp led with 7 carries last week, Matt Sambo and Nick Matosian also figure into the attack.
