National group honors Lake Park athlete

Tori Clark, a senior at Lake Park High School in Roselle, won the 2010 National High School Spirit of Sport Award from the National Federation of State High Schools Association.

The award recognizes students who exemplify the ideals of sport and represent the core mission of education-based athletics.

Clark is a member of the volleyball and basketball teams.

Her leadership skills and positive attitude led her teammates to vote her basketball team captain.

She also is involved with community events, including a wheelchair basketball tournament this year.

In 2009, she helped raise $3,500 to help a competitor from Neuqua Valley High School help pay for her mother's uninsured medical costs due to leukemia.
