Huntley 12, Woodstock North 1: The Red Raiders (13-2, 7-1) shot out to an early 8-0 lead after two innings of play and never looked back as they easily handled the Thunder on the road in the Fox Valley Conference. Carlos Alvarez paced the Red Raiders offensively with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI. Andre Sopena also went 3-for-4 of the night with 3 runs scored, a double, and 1 RBI. Justin Gundlach (2-0) earned the complete-game victory as he struck out 8 batters and allowed just 4 hits in a 5 inning, run rule game.
South Elgin 17, East Aurora 1: The Storm (10-4, 5-3) exploded for 9 runs in the first inning en route to an easy victory over the Tomcats in Upstate Eight Conference action. Daniel Heine drove in 4 runs, hit a double, and scored 3 times to lead the Storm while Nick Schweisthal (2-for-3, 2 runs, 3 RBI) and David Handley (3-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI) also contributed offensively. Tyler Walker (1-0) earned the victory on the mound throwing 3 innings of 1-hit ball while striking out 2 and walking 2.
Cary-Grove 5, Johnsburg 1: The Trojans (10-7, 6-3) picked up another victory as they defeated the Skyhawks at home in FVC action. Keven Weber (3-0) earned the victory, as he remains undefeated on the year, giving up just 6 hits while striking out 7. Michael Vilardo recorded the Trojans' only extra-base hit of the game, a double.
