Stevenson rebounds with victory over Naperville Central

That's how you bounce back.

A day after suffering an extra-inning loss to Libertyville, Stevenson's baseball team knocked off previously undefeated Naperville Central 10-4 in a nonconference game between perennial powers in Lincolnshire on Saturday.

Pat Wilson went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI for Stevenson (6-1). Corey Lasky was 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored, Erick King went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and Jeff Ferstein enjoyed a 3-for-4 day. Lasky, Kory Cutler, King, Alex Daar and Ferstein also had doubles.

Tyler Radtke (2-0) pitched 4 innings in relief of starter Merrick McGrady to earn the win. Radtke allowed 2 runs and 3 hits, striking out seven and walking one.

Naperville Central fell to 8-1.

Carmel 16, Pritzker College Prep 1: The Corsairs (4-2) got home runs from Paul Poirier, Northern Illinois-bound Chris Divarco, Nick Battalini and winning pitcher Tim Hendricks.

Kyle Bessa and Hendricks tripled, while Mike Pudlo doubled.

Mundelein 9, Evanston 8: Tyler Adams' 2-run double in the bottom of the seventh rallied the Mustangs to the nonconference win, capping a 4-run inning after the Wildkits had pulled ahead in the top half of the frame on a grand slam by Mark Johnson.

Adams finished 3-for-5 to lead a 10-hit attack. Mundelein (7-2) also got offensive contributions from Charlie Gandolfi (2-for-3, 2 doubles) and Colin Franklin (double), while Ryan Black recorded the win.

Wauconda 12, Waukegan 2: Kevin Fessler went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI for host Wauconda (7-4), which scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to end the nonconference game.

Erik Maki (2 RBI) and Tom Tyrrell (RBI) each was 2-for-4 with a double. Dan Tanzillo pitched all 5 innings for the win.

Huntley 8, Grayslake North 6: Brandon Fern jacked a pair of 2-run homers and went 3-for-4 for the visiting Knights.

Kevin Staszczak was 2-for-4 for Grayslake North (0-11, 0-2 Fox Valley Fox). He and Sean Brennan hit doubles.

Prospect 15, Grant 13: Lucas Moss cranked a grand slam and had 5 RBI, and Kyle Hunter slugged his third homer of the season for the host Bulldogs.

Hunter finished 2-for-5 with 3 RBI. Dylan Strazzanti was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI.
