Scouting Fenton vs. St. Viator

No. 3 Fenton (11-17) vs. No. 1 St. Viator (21-6)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Outlook: Whoever wins will be in unfamiliar territory. Fenton's only regional title came in 1976, and the Lions are vying for just their third regional title. Fenton advanced by beating Ridgewood for the second time in three tries this season, getting a balanced effort led by Emeka Umeadi's 13 points. Although 6-foot-3 junior Dan Montano scored only 6 points, he still leads the Bison at about 15 points a game. Perimeter contributions from Vince Esposito and post work from Cody Meyer would help challenge St. Viator, which hasn't lost to a team with a losing record this season. The Lions boast two three-year starters in point guard Alan Aboona and 6-4 Richard McLoughlin, who have combined to average more than 27 points per game. A win would set St. Viator's season record.
