Cook County fundraisers

Events that raise money for some type of charity, including galas, golf outings, rummage sales, shopping events, fashion shows, picnics and sport nights. Deadline is two weeks before event date.

Jan. 26

Floral Design Showcase: 7-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, Fremd High School's Kolze Auditorium, 1000 Quentin Road, Palatine. Five floral designers from local shops created fresh floral arrangements to be given away to attendees. Commentator for the evening will be Joyce Grattoni, floral educator and former chairman of the Harper College Horticulture Department. Kohl's Step Up for Kids Stair Climb: 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, Aon Center, 200 E. Randolph St., Chicago. Join 3,000 serious athletes, fitness enthusiasts, family and Children's Memorial supporters as they climb 1,643 stairs at the Aon Center. Registration is $45; ages 12 and under free. National Junior Disability Championships fundraiser: For the entire month of February, Wheeling Auto Center will donate $5 from every oil change and $25 for every referral to NJDC, a national competition for you people with physical disabilities and visual impairments.
