Prince, Warren tip Mundelein
Jessica Prince sank 2 free throws late to help Warren's girls basketball team edge visiting Mundelein 35-34 on Tuesday night.
Prince finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds, while Marla Pettis also scored 10 points for Warren, which improved to 11-11 overall and 4-4 in the North Suburban Lake Division.
Mundelein (13-11, 3-6) was led by Olivia Dunigan with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Amanda Davis added 8 points for the Mustangs.
Grayslake Central 57, Grayslake North 41: Alex Scarbro scored 17 points, including two 3-pointers, as the host Rams defeated the Knights for the second time this season.
Rebekah Llorens and Kat Dickson added 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Grayslake Central (14-5, 7-1 Fox Valley Fox).
It was the Rams' fourth straight win since finishing the Mundelein tournament with three losses in a row.
Grayslake North (9-11, 2-5) got 14 points from Kinsey Siler and 10 from Lauren Erickson. Katie McGrath chipped in eight.
Wauconda 54, Lakes 35: Kate Martino's 19 points, 7 steals, 4 assists and 3 rebounds helped the Bulldogs maintain their share of first place with Vernon Hills in the North Suburban Prairie.
Melanie Prudhomme contributed 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals for Wauconda (14-4, 8-1), while Tammy Ellis had 9 points, 6 assists, 5 steals and 2 rebounds.
Lakes (6-13, 2-6) received 9 points from Mary Doupis and eight from Jennifer Totten.
Antioch 71, Richmond-Burton 63: Andi Potkonjak had her third 24-point effort in four games, as the Sequoits won a fast-paced nonconference game.
Potkonjak, who made four 3-pointers, added 6 steals and 5 assists. Lindsey Gofron scored a season-high 15 points and also had 5 steals and 4 assists for Antioch (9-10). Also for the Sequoits, Jessica Ploss grabbed 11 rebounds, while Allie Anttila chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds.
North Chicago 40, Round Lake 26: The host Warhawks kept the Panthers winless in the North Suburban Prairie, despite Chanae Brown's 17 points for Round Lake. (5-15, 0-8).
