St. Francis, Willowbrook drop Classic games

At Whitney Young's MLK Dream Classic on Monday in Chicago, St. Francis hung right with top-20 team Hales Franciscan for a half, then fell 61-47.

The Spartans trailed 28-25 at halftime, but in the third quarter Hales outscored St. Francis 16-7 to pull away. Ryan Coyle scored 15 points and Joe Pfeiffer added 11 points for St. Francis (6-10). Hales improved to 14-2.

Oswego East 75, Willowbrook 53: At Woodstock North's MLK Classic, Jay Harris made six 3-pointers and scored 36 points to carry Oswego East. Willowbrook (7-11) was led by Chris Lynch with 15 points. Graham Olatunji scored 10 points.
