Johnson's 26 lift Stevenson past Evanston

Nate Johnson scored a career-high 26 points, as Stevenson's boys basketball team defeated host Evanston 76-52 in nonconference action Saturday night.

Jeff Levitt and Brion Wood added 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Stevenson (7-2), which led 18-14 after one quarter and then outscored the Wildkits 24-8 in the second to lead 42-22 at halftime.

Mundelein 79, Cary-Grove 65: At Jacobs, Ben Brust scored 20 points (four 3-pointers) on Day 1 of the annual holiday tournament.

Ryan Sawvell had 18 points, including two dunks, while Robert Knar canned three 3s and scored 17 points for Mundelein (6-4), which had lost three in a row.

Leavon Head chipped in 10 points, including a pair of 3s, in the win.

Prairie Ridge 58, Wauconda 52: At Jacobs, Eric Hartnett 19 points and Tyler Gick added 17 for the Bulldogs.

Wauconda (3-7) also received 10 points from Jeremy Powell.
