Last year 5-23, 1-9, tied for 10th in the Upstate Eight Conference; lost 69-47 to Glenbard East in the Class 4A Glenbard West regional quarterfinals.

Scouting report Virostko arrives after two seasons at Plainfield Central, 16-10 last year with the holiday title at Lemont. Overall the 31-year-old is 58-99 in six seasons, four at alma mater Paris. Virostko returns third-year varsity player and 12.1-point scorer Drufke and the athletic Spencer, who averaged 7 points in a late-season call-up. He seeks an arc from last year's campaign that saw the resignation of coach Cray Allen during a 20-game losing streak. Pietanza, Whetsel and Phelan comprise the Lancers' main experience besides Drufke. Virostko's buzzword is finishing - games mainly, and upping last year's 38 percent shooting. Virostko likes his guys' touch and hustle, but lacking great height he thinks transition baskets are key "We've got to try to get some easy buckets somehow."
