Addison Trail Blazers

Coach Brendan Lyons.

Last year 6-20, 2-10, seventh in West Suburban Gold; lost 63-38 to Proviso East in the Class 4A Proviso West quarterfinals.

Top players Alex Dimaris, sr., F; Costa Diamond, sr., G; Tyler Ramir, sr., G; Danny Mijares, sr., F; Peter Spear, sr., F; Jaleo Gibbs, sr., G; Kevin Babica, sr., G; Tyler Horvath, jr., G; Armin Trgo, jr., G.

Scouting report The Blazers took another step forward last year by winning two conference games for the first time in several years and finishing second at the Batavia Thanksgiving tournament. With eight returning players who saw vast playing time on that team, Addison Trail eyes even greater improvement this season. Dimaris, Diamond, Ramir and Horvath are back for a third varsity season. The graduation of potent leading scorer Ian Horvath is a major hole to fill offensively, but Lyons hopes to have several players step up with double-digit efforts. Dimaris averaged 9 points per game last year, while Diamond and Spear also should boost their scoring. "We're at the point where we want to win some games and not just compete," Lyons said.
