Scouting: Antioch @ Grant

Antioch (3-1, 1-0) at Grant (1-3, 1-1)

When 1 p.m. Saturday

Last week Antioch def. Wauconda, 51-21; Grant def. Round Lake, 54-0.

Outlook This could be the perfect storm for Grant, which is looking for a jolt coming off a 1-3 start. "You can take any analogy you want, like Grant is the wounded animal backed into the corner, ready to fight for everything it can," Antioch coach Brian Glashagel said. "What better way for them to get back on track than to beat us on Saturday. It's their homecoming, on their new field and they're playing the defending (North Suburban Prairie) division champs. We're expecting a very tough game."-The Sequoits will be focused on a Grant running game that was especially proficient last week in rolling up all kinds of yardage against Round Lake. The Bulldogs had 387 total yards of offense in the first half alone. Fullback Dan Hourihan finished with 132 yards on just 7 carries while quarterback Justin Cokefair had 71 rushing yards on just the first drive alone. "Hourihan and Cokefair make a nice 1-2 punch for Grant," Glashagel said-Grant coach Kurt Rous worries that Antioch seems to have more than just a 1-2 punch. The run-oriented Sequoits like handing the ball off to multiple backs. Fullback Steve Lorenzini gets the most touches. He had 213 yards on 28 carries last week against Wauconda but Vinnie Holm (156 yards on 9 carries) also had a big game and Josh Guadarrama has been reliable as well. He had 86 yards on 8 carries. "They have quite a few guys that we need to keep an eye on," Rous said. "They're all quick. They're all good. They're an explosive team. They were the "it" team last year and they still are today."
