Basil Gimlet
3 ounces gin or vodka
1 ounce simple syrup (equal amounts of sugar and water)
3 basil leaves
3 lime wedges
In a martini shaker, put a large handful of ice, gin (or vodka, simple syrup and basil. Squeeze lime juice into shaker and add wedges to the mix. Shake vigorously for at least 15 seconds. Strain into a martini glass.
Serves one.
