A feast for Fessler, Wauconda

Kevin Fessler homered and Wauconda feasted.

Fessler's 3-run shot was one of many highlights - and hits - in the Wauconda baseball team's 20-5, five-inning win over visiting Antioch in a North Suburban Prairie Division game Saturday.

Winning pitcher Nick Jay helped his own cause with 2 doubles. The Bulldogs (8-7-1) pounded out 19 hits, receiving a pair each from Fessler, Jay, Ted Litberg, Bryce Lahrman (double), Jeff Jackson (double), Drew Hylen (double), Sam Theys and Brandon Dill (double).

Antioch received a triple from Andy Danna and a double from Logan Kent, while Joe Gregory went 2-for-3.

Mundelein 10, Round Lake 1: The Mustangs got home runs from Justin Button, Jay Mueller and Colin Franklin in the North Suburban crossover.

Jack Cunnion and Colton Tortorello added doubles for Mundelein (14-2), while Franklin pitched 3 innings for the win.

Jeff Nicoline doubled for Round Lake.

Lakes 9, Marian Central 1: Lakes got a complete game out of pitcher Travis Vanderwall, who struck out 7 and gave up only 1 hit and no walks in moving his record to 3-3. Vanderwall also drove in 2 runs on 2 hits.

Andrew Tubek went 3-for-3 and scored 4 runs for the Eagles, who improve to 12-5.
