Dance to benefit Cary food pantry
CGPACtion is hosting its second annual "Dance for a Cause" event. The event is a one day dance workshop on Sunday, April 26.
CGPACtion is a community service organization founded in 2003 by dancers of the Cary-Grove Performing Arts Centre. It offers students opportunities to reach out to the community and learn how to make a difference.
Participants, age 3 to 12, will learn a dance routine which they will perform for their parents at the end of the workshop. Proceeds from the event will go to the Cary-Grove Food Pantry and CGPACtion to help fund future service projects.
The workshops will be: 2 to 3 p.m. for ages 3 to kindergarten with the performance at 3 p.m.; first- and third-graders from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. with the performance at 3:30 p.m.; and fourth- to seventh-graders from 2:45 to 4 p.m. with the performance at 4 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Cary-Grove Performing Arts Centre, 21 Jandus Road, Cary.
No dance training is required as the focus is to have fun and help the community. Participation fee is $15 with an optional $10 T-shirt.
Donations for the Cary-Food Pantry also will be accepted at the event. Registration will be accepted until the day of the event. For information, call the Cary-Grove Performing Arts Centre at (847) 639-3800.
