Hill's clutch homer lifts Grant

C.J. Hill hit a 3-run homer in the top of the sixth inning to lift Grant's softball team to a 3-1 win over host Buffalo Grove in a nonconference game Thursday.

Rachel DePouw earned the win for the Bulldogs.

Carmel 10, Lake Forest 0: Rachel Tack fired a 6-inning complete game, keeping her season ERA at 0.00 (33 innings pitched).

She struck out 13 and allowed only 2 hits. Shea Crowley was 3-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI to lead the offense for Carmel (4-1). Meg Grady went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.

Grayslake North 10, Round Lake 0: Kristina Gandy threw a 5-inning no-hitter with 7 strikeouts, and also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Samantha Fletcher was 3-for-4 for the Knights.

Antioch 2, Marengo 1: Lauren Moore (triple) and Ashley Mysliwiec (double) each went 2-for-3, as the Sequoits improved to 4-0 with the nonconference road win. Hannah Vandevoorde and Mysliwiec knocked in runs.

Olivia Duehr (3-0) struck out nine and walked one in earning the win.
