IT director named:

Former Big Hollow Elementary District 38 school board member Todd Wright was named the district's director of technology two months after resigning his board seat to apply for the job. Wright oversees the technology department, including updating the Web site, securing computer data and deploying new technology when needed. The board voted unanimously March 16 to hire Wright at a salary of $86,000 a year, officials said. Officials said Wright has 25 years IT experience and knowledge of the district's technology through volunteer work. The board considered hiring Wright at its January meeting, but delayed the move in the face of opposition from some community members. After interviewing more applicants, officials said Wright was hired because he is still the best candidate for the job.
