Stevenson's Firth fans 10 for 9-2 win over Cary Grove
Scott Firth fired.
The Clemson-bound pitcher helped lead Stevenson's baseball team to a 9-2 win over visiting Cary-Grove on Saturday.
Firth fired a 2-hit complete game for his first win. He struck out 10 and walked two.
Stevenson (2-0) got 2 hits apiece from Kyle Ruchim, Matt Geissler, Joe McWeeney and Corey Lasky. Pat Wilson had 3 RBI for the host Patriots. Bill Dorn, Teddy Heiser and Ruchim all doubled.
Wauconda 2, Woodstock 0: Dayton-bound Bryce Lahrman earned the win for the Bulldogs. Dan Tanzillo's double accounted for one of Wauconda's 4 hits.
McHenry 10, Antioch 4: Andy Danna went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI in the loss for the host Sequoits.
Antioch fell to 1-3.
