CL South wins FVC Valley outright
Crystal Lake South 45, Woodstock 32: Crystal Lake South secured first place outright in the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division Friday night by defeating Woodstock. The Gators (23-4, 9-1) were led by Caitlin Mize with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Michelle Gaede (10 points) and Katie Burton (8 points) added to the victory.
Cary-Grove 56, McHenry 48: Leading by just one point at the half, Cary-Grove (21-6, 8-2) turned it up in the second to secure this 56-48 Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win and second place in the conference. Sophomore Claire Jakubicek led the Trojans with 14 points. Meg Straumann (13 points) contributed shooting a perfect 6-of-6 from the stripe. Tori Sandstrom and Tina Bear each added 8 points.
