No slowing down Wheaton Academy

Alexa Sharkey had 17 points and 6 rebounds as Wheaton Academy knocked off Newark, the second-ranked team in Class 1A, 54-45 on Monday in West Chicago.

Meghan Grant added 12 points and 13 rebounds and Leah Fortune 14 points and 6 steals for Wheaton Academy (20-1), which won its ninth straight game.

Glenbard South 58, Fenton 36: The Raiders (12-8) went on a 13-2 run to start the third quarter and cruised to a non-conference win in Glen Ellyn. Meghan Pipal had 16 points, 8 steals and 6 assists for Glenbard South. Nevena Markovic added 13 points and Maja Despot 8 points and 7 rebounds. In the loss, Fenton's Samantha Rubright poured in 25 points.

Lisle 47, Chicago Christian 46: Chelsea Peterson scored 16 points and Colleen Drennan 15 for the Lions (8-15), who came back from down 13 at the half.

Lake Park 60, Streamwood 28: Samantha Arnold poured in 22 points for the Lancers (16-5, 6-0 Upstate Eight), who remained unbeaten in conference heading into Thursday's showdown in Roselle against St. Charles North.
