Bartlett snaps CL South's win streak

Crystal Lake South's 13-game winning streak came to an end at Gator Alley Saturday, when Bartlett pulled out a 52-46 nonconference victory in overtime.

CL South (16-3) led 26-19 at the half, but Jacki Gulczynski (18 points) and Ashley Santos (12 points) led the Hawks (10-7) to their fourth straight win.

The Gators (16-3) were led by Michelle Gaede (14 points) and Katie Burton (13 points).

South Elgin 51, Elgin 39: Becca Smith scored 8 points in the first quarter, matching Elgin's team total, and finished with 21 points to lead South Elgin (11-7, 3-3) to this Upstate Eight Conference victory over the Maroons at Chesbrough Field House. Smith led all scorers, followed closely by Elgin's Ellen Holton. The senior racked up 20 points on 9 field goals, 2 from behind the arc.

Courtney Kumerow (12 points) and Genevieve Johnson (8 points) helped the Storm take control with a 26-11 lead at the half.

Brandi Hernandez added 8 points For Elgin (3-14, 1-4),

IMSA 49, Westminster Christian 42: Big efforts from Sarah Rodgers (19 points, 3 steals) and Rachel Doby (16 points, 6 rebounds) helped the Warriors (2-11) push their nonconference battle with IMSA to overtime. Hannah Graves added 4 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals for the Warriors.

Fremd 59, Streamwood 45: Freshman Amanda Patterson scored a career-high 11 points for the Sabres, but it wasn't enough to overcome Fremd (12-6) in a nonconference meeting in Palatine. Streamwood (5-12) teammates Kim Hotovy and Arielle Gallione each posted 8 points and Melissa Oehlerking added 9 points for the Sabres.
