CL South dumps Bartlett in OT

Crystal Lake South traveled well Tuesday night.

Knotted at 55-55 after regulation, the Gators outscored host Bartlett 14-10 in overtime to post a 69-65 nonconference road win that extended their winning streak to four.

Senior forward Steve Rogers scored 6 of his game-high 30 points in overtime, when the Gators (9-6) sank 8-of-9 free throw attempts to hold of the Hawks (8-5)

Adam Olsewski scored 13 points, and Alex Macaulay finished with 10 points for Crystal Lake South, which held a 3-point lead heading to the fourth quarter.

For Bartlett, senior Marc Little and junior Luke Labedzki each finished with 16 points and junior forward Greg Partyka added 10 points for the Hawks (8-5).

Hampshire 60, Hinckley-Big Rock 41: Mike Kozenczak led Hampshire (8-6) with 17 points in this 60-41 nonconference win at home. The Whip-Purs led 28-27 at halftime and outscored Hinckley-Big Rock 20-6 in the fourth quarter to seal their third straight victory. James Goebbert added 11 points for the Whips.

Jacobs 64, Johnsburg 57: Trailing 32-29 at the break, Jacobs (13-2) battled back to extend its winning streak to 11 straight with this 64-57 Fox Valley Conference crossover road victory at Johnsburg. Conrad Krutwig led all scorers with 24 points, while Mike Barch contributed 14 points.

Huntley 55, Marian Central 52: With double-digit efforts from Richard Gonzaga (13 points) and Tyler Brunschon (12 points), Huntley (9-6) escaped with a nonconference road win in Woodstock. Down 39-32 entering the fourth quarter, the Red Raiders held the Hurricanes to 13 fourth-quarter points while scoring 23 of their own to notch the come-from-behind victory.
