CL South 51, Rockford Jefferson 38: Crystal Lake South defeated Rockford Jefferson during the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic at Marengo. Caitlin Mize led the Gators with 13 points, going 5-for-7 at the free throw line. Molly Benoit scored 11 points to aide the Gators.
CL South 57, Marengo 38: With the leadership of three girls scoring in double digits, Crystal Lake South had no trouble defeating host Marengo during the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic. Michelle Gaede had a game-high 18 points to lead the Gators. Caitlin Mize and Katie Burton contributed 17 points apiece. Burton also led the Gators defensively with 8 rebounds.
CL Central 42, Burlington Central 23: Crystal Lake Central shut down Burlington Central during the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic held at Woodstock. Molly Turk, Kate McNutt, and Alli Settanni all scored 6 points apiece for the Rockets.
Round Lake 49, Burlington Central 42: Despite the efforts of Jordan Maisto, Burlington Central suffered a loss to Round Lake while competing at Woodstock in the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic. Maisto finished with a team-high 18 points, including 4 baskets from the 3-point line. Taylor Colby finished with 8 points, while Alli Settanni and Kate McNutt scored 6 points apiece.
Oak Park-River Forest 62, South Elgin 56: South Elgin suffered a loss during holiday tournament action at Oswego East. Becca Smith led the Storm with 23 points and a 6-for-8 free throw line performance. Helping Smith with the scoring action was Genevieve Johnson, who scored 14 points, and Cortney Kumerow, scoring 11 points. Alysaa Krause added 6 points.
Huntley 41, Prospect JV 26: The Huntley Red Raiders trampled the Prospect junior varsity team at Mundelein's Lady Mustangs Holiday Classic. Katherine Lowery led all scorers with 19 points to lead the Red Raiders to victory.
Cary-Grove 69, Streamwood 50: Cary-Grove came out on top of Streamwood while competing in tournament play at Mundelein's Lady Mustangs Holiday Classic. Tori Sandstrom was the leading scorer with 19 points for the Trojans, while Claire Jakubicek finished with 13 points. Tino Bear added 11 points to the Trojan offense. Lizi Liberman scored a career-high 12 points to help the Sabres. Emma Schmidt also added 12 points, including 11 rebounds on the defensive end.
Illiana Christian 43, Westminster Christian 27: Westminster Christian was defeated by Private School League opponent Illiana Christian. Leading the Warriors was Rachel Doby, who contributed 10 points.
Larkin falls twice: The Royals lost twice at the Oswego East tournament, falling to the host school 38-25 and then to East Aurora 52-41. Nadiyah Spencer scored 6 points for Larkin the Oswego East loss and Jessica Harris had 11 points in the East Aurora game.
