Fox Valley roundup: Hampshire wins

The Hampshire girls basketball team scored another big win Tuesday night, rolling past Harvard 60-23 in a Big Northern East game at Hampshire.

Chrissy Heine led the Whip-Purs (8-1, 2-0) with 12 points. Alex Dumoulin and Kelsey Watson added 10 each.

Cary-Grove 58, Prairie Ridge 31: Leading Cary-Grove (8-2) with 17 points Tori Sandstrom helped the Trojans blow past Prairie Ridge in a Fox Valley Conference crossover game. Meg Straumann also sank three 3-point shots recording 15 points total while teammate Claire Jakubicek collected 10 points to help lead C-G to victory.

Crystal Lake South 50, Johnsburg 45: The Gators (8-2) hung on to defeat Johnsburg in a close Fox Valley crossover game. Katie Burton and Caitlin Mize led CLS each scoring 12 points. Carly Juliano also added to the win recording 10 points.

Crystal Lake Central 32, Dundee-Crown 29: The Chargers (2-8) battled but fell short against Crystal Lake Central in a Fox Valley crossover game. Despite the loss Melissa Summaria scored 11 points for D-C and teammate Alex Lococo added 7.
