Burlington Central 69, Stillman Valley 61: Burlington Central coach Chris Payne challenged Dan Berg to step his game up. Berg responded by scoring 12 of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter as Central rolled past Stillman Valley 69-61. The victory gave Central its first win of the season at Sycamore's Leland G. Strombom Tournament.

Berg had scored a combined 3 points in the Rockets' first 2 games, but more than made up for it as he paced a 21-8 first quarter lead. Matt McCurdy added 18 and Shane Larkin finished with 15 for the Rockets (1-2).

"Dan was great today," Payne said. "We challenged him a little bit on the bus ride over. It was nice to get the first win of the year."

Leyden 65, Streamwood 57: The Sabres got 19 points from Gerrold Ofiana and 18 from Brian Brauer but came up short of a win in this Wheaton Academy tournament game. Brian Domokos added 10 points for Streamwood (1-3). The Sabres played without leading scorer Tem Esikiel, who missed the game due to a team rules violation, according to coach Tim Jones.

Rockford Boylan 63, Crystal Lake South 55: In game two of the Boylan Invitation the Gators (2-2) fell to host team Rockford Boylan. Despite the loss Steven Rogers still managed to post a team high 21 points on the board going 13-14 from the line.
