Larkin wins its own invite
With championship performances from No. 1 singles Kirstie Shales, No. 1 doubles Susan Marquez/Leah Tiaokhiao and No. 2 doubles Alexis Dewitt/Kellie Johnson, Larkin won its own girls tennis inviational Saturday by scoring 10 points. Shales finished the day a perfect 3-0. Larkin also saw a runner-up finish from Jackie Goodlove (No. 2 singles).
St. Edward finished second behind No. 2 singles Kaley St. Claire, who went 3-0 on the day. Tina Wahl earned second place honors at No. 1 singles. Elgin finished third with 5 points followed by Streamwood with 3 points.
At Huntley Quad: After opening play with a 4-1 loss to Wauconda, Huntley (5-5) went on to defeat Round Lake 4-1 and later Marengo 5-0. Both Heather Nieman (No. 1 singles) and Shannon Stanis (No. 1 singles) finished the day 2-1 as did No. 2 and No. 3 doubles Nikki Barrett/Kathleen Chalas and Molly Jackson/Elise Salana respectively.
CL South wins Guilford Invite: With 35 points, Crystal Lake South earned championship honors in the Guilford Invitational. No. 2 singles player Kelsey Harper and No. 2 doubles team Abbey Kolarczyk/Stephanie Brunette led the Gators each with first place finishes. At No. 3 doubles, Jaclyn Teasdale/Maryann Piel finished second overall, and the Gators also saw third place finishes from Rachel Boorom (No. 1 singles) as well as Liana Semchuk/Laura Roesslein (No. 1 doubles).
