McHenry County College plans open house
To guide students on their journey into college, high school juniors and seniors and their parents are invited to the fourth annual MCC Night from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.
This year's theme is "Chart Your Course at MCC" and will feature more than 35 different program booths, where students can learn about navigating the uncharted waters of financing their college education, transferring beyond MCC, athletics and more.
Presentations by various MCC departments will be featured, including Automotive Technology, Digital Media, Fire Science, and a jewelry making demo sponsored by the Art Department. Students also can browse the many options offered for both career certificates and transfer degrees.
Students and parents can receive information on financial aid, college study resources, special needs services and athletics.
Music will be provided by the MCC Jazz Ensemble and STAR 105.5 radio will broadcast live from the campus. Refreshments and light snacks will be available.
MCC Night is free and open to the public. The MCC application fee will be waived for the first 250 high school seniors who apply for admission. Juniors are encouraged to visit the High School Plus program booth to learn how to earn college credit while still attending high school. Students are encouraged to bring a friend.
