"Bee Movie" buzzes to Sleepy Hollow

As part of Sleepy Hollow's 50th birthday celebration, the Sleepy Hollow Service Club will be showing "The Bee Movie" on a giant inflatable screen at Sabatino Park at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7. Sabatino Park is located east of Sleepy Hollow Road on Thorobred Lane.

If you don't want to sit on the lawn, you are encouraged to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets. The Service Club will be selling popcorn and water. This should be a fun family affair and everyone is invited.

Rockin' for Hunger Concert, roast

Joy Community Presbyterian Church Men's group Pig Roast and Concert starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at 108 S. Lakewood, Lake in the Hills. The Huntley fire truck will be there from 6 to 7 and the concert begins at 7 p.m. Bring a bag of nonperishable good to support the Food Pantry and enjoy a free pig roast dinner and concert featuring Wyatt and the Joy Community Worship Team. Preschool to hold open house

Light of Christ Preschool is holding an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10. Visitors can meet the new director, tour classrooms and become familiar with the curriculum.
