Shane Cox of Bolingbrook recently was named Chief Financial Officer of Adventist GlenOaks Hospital in Glendale Heights. Since 2004, Cox has served as regional controller for Adventist Midwest Health. Prior to that, he was director of accounting at Huguley Memorial Medical Center, Burleson, Texas, which also is part of the Adventist system. He holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Texas, Arlington and is a certified public accountant.
Mark Kolkman, assistant principal for athletics at Glenbard East High School in Lombard, received the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Certificate of Merit at the Illinois Athletic Directors Association State Conference in May.
Jean Madura of Roselle was named Marklund's 2007 Volunteer of the Year at the organization's annual volunteer recognition dinner in April. Known as "Grandma Jean," Madura has been a volunteer at Marklund for more than 10 years. Marklund is a not-for-profit service network that helps infants, children and adults with severe and profound developmental disabilities.
Nurse practitioner Ancy Zacharia of Addison earned the House Call Clinician of the Year award from the American Academy of Home Care Physicians, the highest honor bestowed by the academy. Zacharia was nominated and selected by her peers for helping bring house calls back to mainstream medicine. Zacharia received her bachelor's degree in nursing from R A K College, India, in 1993. She completed her masters of science in nursing with a specialty in gerontological nursing at Rush University in Chicago and became a certified geriatric nurse practitioner in 1999.
