County to spray for moths
McHenry County will conduct aerial spraying for the control of gypsy moth infestation during May.
Gypsy moths are among the most destructive forest and landscape pests in the United States stripping the leaves from oaks, crab apples, poplars and other popular tree types.
Actual aerial spraying dates will depend on weather conditions.
Public informational meetings regarding the McHenry County aerial spraying program will be held at 7 p.m. today at McHenry County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock and at 7 p.m. May 22 at University of Illinois Extension, 1102 McConnell Road, Woodstock.
