Glenbard East 12, Glenbard South 1

Glenbard East (2-5) stunned the host Glenbard South Raiders (4-1) in a 12-1 decision to hand them their first loss of the season.

The Rams sent out 14 hits, including five for extra bases, in ending the game in six innings.

Alyssa Gianatasio went 3 for 4 with a double, triple, 3 RBI and 3 runs. Megan Shannon was 2 for 4 with a double, triple, RBI and 3 runs. Paige Gerstner went 3 for 4 with a double, RBI and 2 runs.

Winning pitcher Abby Petersdorf threw a 3-hitter. She walked one and struck out three.

Naperville North 2, St. Charles East 0:ŒLayne Engel pitched a 3-hit shutout to help keep the Huskies (7-0) unbeaten.

Engel notched 5 strikeouts and didn't walk anyone.

Naperville North scored twice in the fourth.

West Chicago 6, Glenbard West 3:ŒWinner Mary Connolly broke a 3-3 tie with a 3-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to lift West Chicago (3-1).

Izzy Bruce went 2 for 3 with a double and scored twice for the Wildcats.

Naperville Central 8, Downers North 4:ŒThe Redhawks (2-0) scored 6 runs in the fourth to take an 8-0 lead en route to the victory.

Winning pitcher Natalie Wunderlich belted a 2-run home run. Teammates Erin Graham and Stephanie Lynch also collected 2 RBI apiece.

Lauren McNulty was 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI for Downers North (2-2).

Downers South 5, Benet 1:ŒDowners South (5-1) snapped a 1-1 tie with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning, then added 3 more in the sixth.

Karissa Habel earned the victory with a 4-hitter. She struck out 12.

Ashley Vizek had a solo homer and Kayla Gull was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI for the winners.

Laura Canulli went 2 for 3 with a double for Benet (2-4).

Addison Trail 3, St. Francis 1:ŒMeghan Crotty delivered a sacrifice fly in the second inning, then smacked a 2-run homer in the fourth to power the Blazers (2-2).

Winning pitcher Gina Pizzoferrato recorded 13 strikeouts and finished with a 5-hitter.

York 9, Hinsdale South 2:ŒBetsy Malone and Charlene Osmanski each homered during a 6-run third inning for York (5-4).

Malone went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI.

Nazareth 11, Driscoll 6:ŒTarah McShane was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs in the loss for the Highlanders (5-5).

Joliet Catholic 11, Waubonsie Valley 1:ŒBreanna Price doubled and knocked in the only run for Waubonsie Valley (1-4).
