Health care is focus of expo Thursday

The DuPage Association of Health Underwriters, a chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters, is sponsoring its annual expo, The Politics of Healthcare, from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Medinah Banquets, 550 Shriners Drive, Addison. Sign up to deliver Meals on Wheels

Network to honor volunteers' efforts

The West Suburban Philanthropic Network will accept nominations for Outstanding Volunteers until April 21 online at www.wspnonline.com.

Nonprofit leaders are encouraged to attend the awards luncheon with their volunteers, beginning with registration at 11 a.m. May 21 at Abbington Distinctive Banquets, Route 53 and Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn. The event recognizes WSPN's honorees, as well as nominated volunteers.

Danada Friends is seeking donations

The Friends of Danada and Danada Equestrian Center volunteers are soliciting tax-deductible items and services for the auction, Derby Day at Danada fundraiser, from 1 to 6 p.m. May 3 at the Danada Forest Preserve, 3S501 Naperville Road, Wheaton.

The event includes activities for children, food, horse exhibits, demonstrations, wagon rides and an auction.

Run marathon to benefit WDSRA

For this fall's event, Chicago Marathon runners can choose to run for Western DuPage Special Recreation Association as their charity of choice.

Runners need to sign up before mid-May for this event and to aid WDSRA. Last year's marathon, with 7,000 charity runners, raised more than $10.1 million for charity organizations around the world.

Ladies' golf league to hold luncheon

The Swingin' Set Ladies Golf League at Village Links of Glen Ellyn will hold its spring lunch Tuesday at Brio Tuscan Grill in Lombard.

The league offers an 18- and a 9-hole division with tee times from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays, May through September, at the Village Links, 220 S. Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn.
