Think you know trivia? Check out this contest

The Literacy Connection will hold its 11th annual Trivia Bee fundraiser from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. April 5 in the Fox River Room of the Grand Victoria Casino, 250 S. Grove Ave. in Elgin.

All trivia buffs are encouraged to set aside part of the day to compete or to watch the competition.

The contest raises money for The Literacy Connection's programs and tests the capacity of participants to remember both frivolous and important facts from a variety of categories. The event includes a raffle and a silent auction as well. Top teams win prizes, trophies, and --perhaps most important -- bragging rights.

Last year's winning team was Judson University. Previous winners have included RR Donnelley, Gail Borden Public Library, Elgin Jaycees Club and Elgin Academy.

Admission to the Trivia Bee is $5 per person and includes refreshments and a chance to win audience participation prizes. Teams will receive free admission tickets for family and/or friends as part of their $550 registration fee. Potential teams, sponsors and prize donors are encouraged to learn more by e-mailing The Literacy Connection at info@elginliteracy.org, calling (847) 742-6565 or visiting www.elginliteracy.org.
