Comedy night fundraiser to benefit literacy group

The Literacy Connection will hold its first-ever "Laughter for Literacy" comedy night fundraiser Jan. 26 in the Heritage Ballroom at The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way in Elgin.

The talented cast of GreenRoom Productions will put on their popular improvisational comedy show at 7 p.m. for family audiences and again at 9 p.m. for adult audiences.

Doors open 15 minutes before each performance. Both shows will be filled with good, clean, laugh-out-loud fun.

General admission in advance is $15 or $10 for children, age 12 and younger. Admission is $20 at the door. All tickets will be held at the will-call area at the Heritage Ballroom on the night of the shows.

Programs include English as a Second Language, Basic Reading, Workplace Literacy, and Summer Youth Tutoring.
