SARET to open its new retail shop
SARET Charitable Fund will hold a grand opening of its new retail store, SARET Treasures of Hope, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday in Baker Hill Shopping Plaza, 878 Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn. Learn to arrange your fall flowers
The West Chicago Public Library will present a fall flower arranging program with Peggy Garvin at 7 p.m. Thursday at the library, 118 W. Washington, West Chicago. Queen Bee plans to destroy records
Queen Bee District 16 will comply with the state code and destroy temporary records for special education files of students born in 1985; records of students who permanently withdrew from the school district before July 1, 2002; and the early childhood screening files for years prior to 2004.
The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act and Illinois School Records Act allow parents and eligible students to inspect, copy or challenge information prior to destruction.
Individuals wishing to inspect records scheduled for destruction should call the Office of Special Services at the district office, 1560 Bloomingdale Road, Glendale Heights. Identification is required to claim confidential records. The records will be destroyed Dec. 31.

Glen Crest names its IMEA musicians
Glen Crest Middle School has announced the students selected by audition for the middle school music program at the Illinois Music Educators Association District 9 Honor Festival, which will be Saturday at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville.
Band students are Kaitlyn Curtis and Allison Griffin. Chorus members are Talia Benware, Daniel Delgado, Arshaun Goodman, Jessica Kohout, Sydney Komro, Briana Morris, Karen O'Brien, Meg Schmalandt and Patrick Yasutake.
Park district offers fun for all ages
The Warrenville Park District, 3S260 Warren Ave., is taking registration for these programs.
• The Tri-Town Girls Basketball League for girls in fifth through eighth grades will begin with practices and games in November for a 10-game season. The fee is $88 for residents, $93 for others.
• Indoor youth soccer for students in kindergarten through eighth grade will begin Nov. 10 for five weeks at the center. The fee is $45 for residents, $50 for others.
• Archery for ages 8 to 65 will meet Saturdays beginning this week for six weeks. The fee is $60 for residents, $65 for others. For details, call (630) 393-7279.
