Movers and shakers

Micaela Banks of Elgin was named director of the physical therapist assistant program at Elgin Community College. She previously worked as a therapy coordinator for a home care agency. Banks, who has 30 years experience, holds a bachelor's degree in allied medical professions/physical therapy from Ohio State University and a master's degree in business administration from Keller Graduate School of Management, Elgin campus. She also holds a physical therapy license in Illinois, is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Illinois Physical Therapy Association and a APTA clinical instructor credential.

Oswego resident Carrie Darrah was promoted to senior engineer at Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Engineers. Darrah joined the firm in 2002 and provides design for wastewater treatment plant projects in LaSalle, Ottawa and Princeton, Ill.

McHenry County resident Ron Cohen joined Resource Brokerage LLC, Schaumburg, as a broker specialist for the long-term care disability income insurance division. Cohen is a veteran of MetLife, John Hancock and the New York Life Insurance Co.

Wolf & Company LLP, Oak Brook, promoted Brian Anderson of Montgomery and John Winquist of Glen Ellyn to managers; and John Schabes of New Lennox, Stacy Letourneau of Schaumburg and Anthony Magnafici of Carol Stream to senior accountants.

Susan K. Laning of West Chicago was appointed clinical coordinator, home care, for Family Home Health and Services Inc., Addison. She becomes responsible for coordination of home health services and staffing and staff education. Additionally, Family Home Health Services appointed Elaine Thomas of Hampshire director of CQI and education, responsible for quality improvement initiatives for the home health, private duty and hospice product lines, clinical competency of staff and supervision of the education and documentation team.
