Algonquin

•A Lake in the Hills woman was arrested at 4 p.m. Friday at Meijer's, 400 S. Randall Road, police said. Amy Migliorato, 23, of 1419 Adams St., was charged with theft, assault and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Migliorato posted a $100 bond and was given a Sept. 26 court date in Woodstock.

Crystal Lake

•A 20-year-old employee of Subway, 40 W. Terra Cotta Ave., was accused of making up the story of a robbery before 7 a.m. Monday, during which he suffered a knife wound to his right arm that was self-inflicted, police said. Deputy Police Chief Dennis Harris said the employee later admitted he fabricated the story. No charges have been filed against the employee, the case is still under investigation and is subject to charges from the McHenry County state's attorney's office.

Elgin

•A Sycamore man was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at State Street and Walnut Avenue, police said. Brad Mirotznik, 21, of 1525 E. Stonehenge Drive, was charged with the possession of marijuana and was cited for an expired registration, police said. Mirotznik posted a $100 bond and was given a Sept. 18 court date in Elgin.

•Two gunshots were reported at 8:45 p.m. Sunday in the area of May Street and Illinois Avenue.

•A radar detector, a digital camera and 75 CDs valued at a total of $1,110 were stolen between 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday out of a 2002 GMC Yukon on the 1300 block of Borden Drive.

Huntley

•Between Aug. 13 and Aug. 18, a tractor owned by Rubloff Excavation was stolen off the Home Depot construction site at Route 47 and Powers Road. The tractor is valued at $50,000.

•Between Aug. 10 and Aug. 23, several ladders and pieces of construction equipment were stolen out of a home under construction near 10200 Humbolt in the Cider Grove subdivision. The estimated loss is $6,000.

South Elgin

•A manager at Best Buy, 424 Randall Road, said an anonymous tipster told him two employees had stolen items from the store, police said. The items were three global positioning systems and a music CD valued at a total of $1,643.96. Police said the thefts occurred between February and Aug. 26. Nicholas J. Fonte, 17, of 3N824 Treetop Lane, St. Charles and Mikhael J. Colon, 19, of 13 Longwood Place #10, Elgin, were charged with felony theft, police said. Bonds for Fonte and Colon were set at $1,500. Fonte posted bond and was released from custody. Colon remains in the Kane County jail. Both have court appearances scheduled for Sept. 13 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
