Cherries on a Cloud
6 egg whites 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar 1/4 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup sugarFilling2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened 3/4 cup sugar1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 cups heavy cream, whipped2 cups miniature marshmallows Topping2 cans (21 ounces each) cherry pie filling1 teaspoon lemon juiceLightly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking pan. Heat oven to 275 degrees.In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar and salt until foamy. Gradually add the sugar, beating on high until stiff peaks form. Spread evenly into prepared baking pan and bake 1 hour. Remove from oven and cool completely.Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Gently fold in cream and marshmallows. Spread over cooled meringue. Chill for 4 hours.Combine topping ingredients and spread over the top of filling.
