Microwave Brownies

Microwave Brownies
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup flour
2 tablespoons powered sugar, divided

Mixing bowl
Wooden spoon
Measuring cups and spoons
8-inch round glass or microwavable pan
Sifter
With a wooden spoon, blend butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs and vanilla and stir to blend well.
Add flour, cocoa and 1 tablespoon powdered sugar. Mix for 2 minutes. Pour batter into a round microwave oven-safe cake pan or pie plate that has been greased with sprinkled lightly with extra granulated sugar.
Microwave 5-7 minutes on HIGH power. Sift the remaining powdered sugar over the brownies. Set stand for 5 minutes to complete the cooking process. Cut into nine wedges or squares and enjoy.
Serves nine.
