Run for the STARS 5K June 9 to benefit STARS Ministry

The Run for the STARS 5K race will be held on Saturday, June 9, in Wheaton.

Now in its 15th year, Run for the STARS is one of the larger Chicago area 5K races based on number of runners.

The race features electronic timing, a short-sleeve cotton performance shirt for participants, custom medals for all who place, and awards for the top three finishers in each age group.

Don't miss your chance to participate in this fun, family-friendly event.

Walkers are welcome!

The start and finish line of the 5K is across from historic Wheaton College and College Church.

The Run for the STARS takes you through a beautiful, tree-lined neighborhood around the college on a fast certified course.

Water stations, race marshals and plenty of other volunteers will help make it a safe and enjoyable race.

Race proceeds benefit the disabled by providing camp scholarships, recreational camps, and job coaching.

For registration and race information, visit the race website at www.runforthestars.com.

For additional questions, contact race director Lance Clemens at (630) 200-6033 or at lancelemens@gmail.com.

STARS Ministry serves children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It serves more than 130 families in the western suburbs and is open to all. Participants in the program do not need to attend College Church.

The ministry provides social, recreational, and educational programs for children and adults and provides support to their parents and caregivers. Visit www.runforthestars.com.
