Algonquin Lions Club to host Christmas tree, wreath sale

The Algonquin Lions Club will spread holiday cheer at its annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale at Algonquin State Bank on Randall Road beginning Friday, Nov. 24.

"We will again be selling Michigan-raised quality Fraser fir trees ranging in size from 6 feet to 12 feet," explained Algonquin Lions Christmas Tree chairman Bob Cummins.

Wreath sizes are 24 and 36 inches.

"The Algonquin Lions have been selling Christmas trees in the community for several decades, and it is very gratifying to have the same families return year after year to buy trees and wreaths from us," Cummins said.

He attributes the success of fundraising project to quality trees and that buyers know the proceeds are going to support local charities.

Sales hours are 6 to 9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

As a courtesy, the Lions also trim the bottom of the tree and will tie the tree to the buyer's vehicle.

The Fraser fir trees and wreaths are competitively priced and the Lions accept cash, checks and major credit cards.
