Library thanks retiring Friends book sale leader

At the Tuesday, Oct. 10, Friends of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library board meeting, the board expressed its appreciation for Pat Dennehey and the 20 years of service and leadership that she has given to the Friends of the Library in her role as the book sale chairwoman.

Dennehey's hard work, common sense and good humor helped make every sale a success. After 20 years, Dennehey has retired from running the Friends' quarterly book sales.

Always a Friend, Dennehey plans to continue her volunteer work in the Friends room, sorting incoming donations, maintaining her own row of sports, education, and reference materials, and helping to make auction selections for the sales.

The next Friends of the Library book sale will be Saturday, Oct. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 29, at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton Ave., in Arlington Heights.

The Member Preview sale will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday Oct. 27. For those who aren't already a member of the Friends, they can either join for $5 Friday night at the sale, or become a Friend online at http://www.ahml.info/get_involved/friends.
