Anonapalooza Sober Festival features music, family fun

A Man in Recovery Foundation and Hope Outreach Foundation will co-host the ninth annual Anonapalooza Sober Festival on Sunday, July 16.

The festival will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at Good Templar Park, 528 East Side Drive, Geneva. It will be held rain or shine.

Featuring seven local musical bands, the festival also hosts family friendly activities and includes children's games, face painting, bounce house, and raffle.

Scheduled performers will be folk/pop singer and guitarist Beth Carlson from noon to 12:30 p.m., Henry Staggers Band from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m., Gary Steczo Project from 1:30 to 2 p.m., Gutterflower from 2:15 to 3 p.m., Phil Circle from 3:15 to 4 p.m., The Treeshakers from 4:15 to 5 p.m., and The Loose Cannons from 5:15 to 6 p.m.

Special guests will be Brandon Novak, skateboarder, author and reality TV personality; Tim Ryan, founder of A Man In Recovery, motivational speaker and author of "From Dope to Hope: A Man in Recovery"; and The Murph from Hope Outreach.

Admission for this event is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

All proceeds will go toward the support of services for individuals recovering from alcohol and substance use disorders.
