Celebrate art and charity at the Church Street Artisan Market June 3

Get ready for a day filled with creativity, community, and shopping at the Church Street Artisan Market on Saturday, June 3, from noon to 5 p.m. The market will take place at Church Street Brewing, 1480 Industrial Drive, Unit C, Itasca. Admission is free, and attendees of all ages are welcome to join in the fun.

Curated and organized by the Streetz Artz Alliance, this vibrant event will feature over two dozen talented local artists and makers. Each artist is independently owned, a small business, and brings their passions and creativity alive in the things they make and sell at this market. One artist in particular will be donating all their sales to a charity. More on that later.

Church Street Brewing is renowned for its "Righteously Good Beer," and during this event, they will be serving a wide variety of their craft beers, as well as canned coffee, cider and some mixed drinks. A variety of handhelds, pizzas and pretzels will also be available from their kitchen. While pets are not allowed inside the brewery, pets are allowed on the back patio and in the grass area in front of the brewery. Attendees can explore the market's diverse offerings, indulge in delicious eats, and support local artists.

The market will showcase an impressive array of handmade items, including original pieces, prints, macrame, one-of-a-kind jewelry, framed artwork, candles, skincare products, resin dice, homemade jams, and much more. With such a diverse selection, visitors are sure to find the perfect item to complement their personal style or discover unique gifts for loved ones. Father's Day is coming up (June 18 for those that need to know) and this event is the perfect setting to explore great gift ideas for your dad.

Nikki Elliott, owner of Werewolf of Chicago Art Co. and the talented brewery artist behind many of Church Street Brewing's beer labels, will be in attendance, showcasing her incredible artwork. Elliott's table will not only feature Church Street Brewing Company beer label art prints and her own Hellcat originals paintings and cross-stitch pieces for sale but will also serve a noble cause.

She shared, "100% of sales from my table will be supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Art with the purpose of helping others. Stop by to say hi, grab some free hugs and great art."

The Church Street Artisan Market is not only a celebration of art but also a platform to support charities and make a positive impact in the community.

Elliott further explained, "I've been curating art show charity events for the past ten years called Create For A Cure. Artists from all over the world would donate their artwork to have the proceeds benefit either The American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital." Elliott's own nonprofit organization, Xthree, aims to provide free resources to cancer patients and survivors in the Chicagoland area, improving their quality of life through various means such as hospital bill assistance, transportation to appointments, therapy, and more.

"It's amazing to see Nikki raising awareness and money for the charities closest to her heart, and to see venues such as this one giving us the platform to make the event happen. I recommend to each artist in the alliance to support a charity if they can," said John Streetz, head of the Streetz Artz Alliance.

Church Street Brewing Company takes pride in supporting the arts, small businesses, and local charities. Amanda Steinbraker, social media manager of Church Street Brewing Company, expressed their commitment, saying, "Our whole staff participates in these markets, buying from multiple vendors and supporting the rest. Lisa Gregor (brewery owner) is a huge supporter of the arts, and we contribute to multiple charities throughout the year."

In addition to the exciting art and charitable endeavors, Church Street Brewing Company continues to provide a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for visitors. Jace Rhea, taproom manager, shared their philosophy, stating, "We host free events all the time because we don't think people should have to pay simply to get together and enjoy each other's company." The brewery also collaborates with small business owners, offering various workshops, including sip and script events, paint nights, pedals and pints nights, and cooking classes.

Steinbraker stated, "We now offer multiple non alcoholic beverages to make everyone feel comfortable. The patio has been renovated with pergolas! About parking, it's free. Feel free to park along the street and (in the) nearest parking lot."
