Learn how values-based leaders create world-class organization at Benedictine event

No one wants to settle for "just good enough" when it comes to leadership.

Becoming a better leader is the theme of the next Senior Executive Roundtable at Benedictine University featuring keynote speaker Harry Kraemer, Jr., a best-selling author, clinical professor of strategy at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and former chairman and CEO of Baxter International, a $12 billion global health care company.

Members of the business community are invited to attend the event, which will be held from 1:00-4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 11, in the Sorensen Hall of Leaders on the fourth floor of Goodwin Hall.

At Northwestern, Kraemer teaches in the M.B.A. and Executive M.B.A. programs. He also serves as a consultant for CEOs and senior executives as an executive partner with Madison Dearborn Partners, a private equity firm in Chicago.

Kraemer is a leader in the Chicago civic and business community. He is also the author of two best-selling books, "From Values to Action: The Four Principles of Values-Based Leadership" and "Becoming the Best: Build a World-Class Organization through Values-Based Leadership."

Drawing from his research and leadership background, Kraemer identifies how senior executives can become the best possible leaders, guide the most effective teams and make their companies the best partners for customers and clients.

"Leadership from a values-driven perspective is complex - our business environments change rapidly, and there are many demands on our time and resources," says Jim Ludema, Ph.D., director of Benedictine University's Center for Values-Driven Leadership.

"Kraemer led an incredibly successful company from this perspective, and has studied the leadership of countless others. His insights are eye-openers for senior executives who want to strengthen their own leadership capacity."

Other business executives participating in the roundtable panel include Kate Bensen, president and CEO of the Chicago Network, an organization of leading professional women, and Joseph Kanfer, CEO of GOJO Industries Inc., creators of Purell and other health and hygiene products.

Tickets are $175 per person with group discounts available.

The Senior Executive Roundtables are an ongoing series for senior executives - presidents, CEOs, C-level executives and others - sponsored by Benedictine University's Center for Values-Driven Leadership. They are designed to inform and inspire senior executives who are committed to leading at the intersection of ethics, sustainability and business.

Benedictine's Center for Values-Driven Leadership is the home base for the University's research-driven Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and practice-oriented Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) programs in Values-Driven Leadership. More information about the doctoral program can be found at www.cvdl.org/doctorate.
