Brilliant orange fills the skies over Lake Puckaway in Marquette, Wis. in 2014. Keith Lorentzen of Inverness
This is a bull moose that wandered through our campground one morning grazing through the sagebrush. I love the light in this picture, as well as the softer green of the sagebrush. The moose looks so peaceful, yet is definitely a dangerous animal. So I made sure to use my zoom lens for this picture! Jessica Johnson of Carol Stream
I took This photo of the lighthouse at Woods Island on Prince Edward Island from the ferry between PEI and Caribou, Nova Scotia on our trip to Canada last fall. Robert M. Sharp of Gilberts

Thousands of people line the Chicago River to watch as crews on two different motorboats use flour sifters to dump an orange powder into the river and turn it a bright green color before the St. Patrick's Day parade. The larger first boat is responsible for dumping the dye while the smaller second boat's job is to chase the large boat and churn up the water to help disperse the powder. Sheila O'Gara of Buffalo Grove
The second photo was taken in August, 2015 in the backyard of my Lombard home. Some of the plants we have established just drawn the colorful visitors each year. They had a nice touch to our backyard. In this case the surrounding green colors all highlighted the butterfly and its colors in the center of the picture. Joe Gilles of Lombard
I took this photo at Huntington Beach in Orange County, California. I like this photo because I like mysterious edge it has. Who is this man and where is he going? What's his story? The biggest challenge for me when taking this picture was capturing the photo at the right time in the day as to where the ocean and the sky seem to meet, and you can see nothing beyond. Hope Terrini of Winfield
I took this picture last fall at Starved Rock S.P. The bird was foraging through the leaves looking for bugs, and didn't seem to mind my standing nearby taking this picture. Milton Hoskins of Hampshire
I Took this from my kitchen window a few weeks ago. Not shown are the birds below enjoying the seeds falling to the ground. Michelle Buck of St. Charles
