'Gifts of Nature' art exhibit to open at McHenry County Conservation District

The McHenry County Conservation District invites you to view "Gifts of Nature," a fine art/watercolor exhibit, on display Jan. 9 to Feb. 7 at Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Road in Ringwood.

An artist reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17.

This exhibit is free and is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sundays.

Award-winning artist Lori Indovina-Valus presents some of her fine art/watercolors in this delightful exhibit that captures the beauty that is all around us. "My motivation is not only love for and a feeling of oneness with nature but also a desire to inspire conservation."

Indovina-Valus has been involved with art, design and photography her whole life. As a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she has had an art teaching career of over 10 years in Chicago and McHenry County. Her graphic design and illustration work has been published for over 24 years and has won many awards from professional newspaper associations in state, national and international competitions.
